Snowmobiler injured in Inwood Township accident

INWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI--   A snowmobiler in a Schoolcraft County crash had to be hospitalized on Friday.

State Police from the St. Ignace Post were dispatched around 1:45 p.m. to County Road 449 in Inwood Township. Only one snowmobile was involved.

The driver and his party left the scene of the accident and went to Shingleton, where the driver complained of a severe headache. He lost consciousness and was taken to UPHS Marquette for treatment.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
