Officials say medical condition likely caused Delta County accident

DELTA COUNTY, MI--   The Delta County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early-morning crash near the intersection of US-2/41 and County Road 426. 

Deputies responded Monday just after 3 a.m. They found an unresponsive man in the driver’s seat of the vehicle and began life saving efforts. The victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Officials believe the driver suffered from a medical condition that caused the accident.

The name of the driver is being withheld, pending notification of family.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
