MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette woman was injured in a car-semi accident in the city Thursday.

Marquette Police say Carol Marceau, 81, was southbound on South Front Street when a semi pulled out in front of her from West Hampton Street. The semi was driven by 28-year-old Warren Phillips of Kentucky.

Marceau was unable to stop and hit the truck. She was taken to UPHS-Marquette for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Phillips was cited for failure to yield.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
