Truck spills logs on Portage Township road

PORTAGE TOWNSHIP, MI--   No injuries are reported, following a crash between a pickup and a logging truck in Houghton County.

State Police from the Calumet Post were dispatched Wednesday around 2:15 p.m. to US-41 near Broemer Road in Portage Township. Troopers say both vehicles were southbound on the highway when the logging truck attempted to pass the pickup. At the same time the driver of the pickup activated its left-turn signal to turn into a private drive. The logging truck crossed over the north shoulder of the road, overturned, and spilled logs across the roadway.

No one was injured in the incident.

The driver of the logging truck was cited for spilling a load.
