Marquette County plow involved in two-vehicle accident

RICHMOND TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Palmer woman suffered minor injuries after her vehicle hit a Marquette County plow.

State Police from the Negaunee Post responded Monday around 10:30 a.m. to the crash in Richmond Township. They say Kelly Minthorn, 39, was westbound on Lancaster Street when she struck the plow, driven by James Chaperon, 58, of Ishpeming.

Minthorn was taken to UPHS-Marquette for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Chaperon was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign.

Michigan State Police are reminding drivers to be careful when entering intersections and highways and exiting driveways due to limited visibility from large snowbanks.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
