Man critically injured when tree falls in front of motorcycle

ALGER COUNTY, MI--   One person is hospitalized following a motorcycle accident in Alger County.

Sheriff’s deputies say it happened Wednesday around 3:30 p.m. on H-58 near Ross Lake Road. Investigation revealed two motorcycles were eastbound in single file when a large tree fell between them. The driver of the rear motorcycle hit the tree and was ejected. He landed in the road about 250 feet away.

The driver was taken to a landing zone by Alger EMS, where he was picked up by Valley Med Flight and taken to UPHS-Marquette.

The driver remains hospitalized in critical condition. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
