Iron Mountain troopers investigate vehicle/motorcycle accident

BREITUNG TOWNSHIP, MI--   One person was seriously injured in a crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle in Dickinson County Friday. 

Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain Post say it happened around 6:45 p.m. on Peterson Road near County Road 607 in Breitung Township.  Troopers say the crash involved a motorcycle and an SUV.

A passenger on the bike was taken to Dickinson County Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The operator of the motorcycle was arrested for operating while impaired and lodged at the Dickinson County Jail.

The Breitung Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
