Marquette man cited for Chocolay crash

CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP, MI--   No serious injuries were reported in a Chocolay Township traffic accident Monday morning.

Marquette County Sheriff’s deputies say it happened just before 8 a.m. on M-28 near Wintergreen Trail. A Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by Faye Williams of Marquette exited a private drive to head westbound on the highway when he pulled into the path of an eastbound Subaru Baja Sport driven by Helen Nelson of Baraga.

Both drivers were transported to UPHS-Marquette for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Williams was cited for failing to yield the right of way.

Deputies were assisted by the Chocolay Police Department, the Chocolay Township Fire Department and UPHS-Marquette.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
