One woman injured in Iron County roll-over accident

(IRON COUNTY) On person suffered minor injuries in an Iron County crash over the weekend. Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain post were dispatched Saturday around 10am to the intersection of Sunset Lake Road and Wet Park Drive in Bates Township. The vehicle had rolled over and the driver was trapped inside.

With the assistance of the West Iron Fire Department, the trooper got the woman out of the vehicle. She was taken to Aspirus Hospital, treated and released.

Icy road conditions are believed to be a factor in the crash. The driver was wearing her seatbelt.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
