DAFTER TOWNSHIP, MI-- One person was killed in a Chippewa County traffic crash Thursday.
Troopers from the Sault Ste. Marie Post say it happened just after 1 p.m. on the Mackinac Trail in Dafter Township. The driver of a passenger car was exiting a private driveway and drove into the path of a northbound pickup truck.
The driver of the car, identified as 84-year-old Joe Mongene, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
