ELY TOWNSHIP, MI-- A Champion man has been injured in an ATV accident in Ely Township.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched Monday around 4:15 p.m. to Dishno Road just west of Wolf Road. Deputies say Dale Harju, 51, was driving his ATV west on Dishno Road when he saw someone walking on the road and swerved to miss the pedestrian. He lost control of the machine, which hit a large rock and threw Harju.
The pedestrian, 72-year-old Terry Cathcart of Ishpeming, called 911.
Harju was taken to UPHS-Marquette with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
