Two injured in Negaunee crash

NEGAUNEE, MI--   The Negaunee Police Department is investigating a two-vehicle crash in the city Thursday.

Officers say it happened around 6:10 p.m. at the intersection of Baldwin Avenue and US-41. Pamela Gantz of Negaunee was northbound on Baldwin when she failed to stop at a red light. She tried to turn westbound onto the highway and struck an eastbound Ford F-150 driven by Terry Oelfke of Ishpeming. The collision caused oOelfke’s vehicle to roll over.

Oelfke and his wife were taken to UPHS-Bell for treatment of minor injuries.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
