Wilson man seriously injured in motorcycle crash

WELLS TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Delta County man has been seriously injured in a motorcycle accident.

Troopers from the Gladstone Post were dispatched Wednesday around 5:40 p.m. to the intersection of US-2/41 and I Road in Wells Township. They say a vehicle failed to yield and crossed the highway in front of the motorcycle.

The bike hit the vehicle broadside and the driver sustained multiple injuries. He was not wearing a helmet and appeared to have suffered a serious head injury. The 67-year-old Wilson man was airlifted by Valley Med Flight to UPHS-Marquette.

The accident remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
