Motorcycle personal injury crash in Dickinson County

FELCH TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Gaastra man has been injured in a motorcycle accident in Dickinson County.

Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain Post say it happened Wednesday just before 9:30 a.m. on Leeman Road near Pirlot Road in Felch Township. Alfred Drago, 41, was eastbound on his bike when he tried to pass a logging truck in a no-passing zone. He drove off the north side of the road, lost control of the bike and was ejected.

Drago was taken to Dickinson County Hospital for treatment of serious but not life-threatening injuries. He was airlifted to UPHS-Marquette for further treatment.

Troopers say Drago was wearing a helmet.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
