Jeep hits two poles in Gogebic County crash

IRONWOOD, MI--   Troopers from the Wakefield Post are investigating a property damage crash in Ironwood.

Tuesday around 10:10 a.m. a Jeep driven by a 20-year-old Bessemer resident was westbound on US-2 near Lake Street when the driver said they experienced a medical issue. The Jeep crossed the centerline and the eastbound lanes, then struck a power pole and flagpole in the lot of the Holiday Gas Station.

No other vehicles were struck. The driver suffered no apparent injuries.

Troopers say alcohol and drugs don’t appear to be a factor in the crash.

The driver will be submitted for a re-examination through the Secretary of State.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
