Speed a factor in fatal Luce County crash

MCMILLAN TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Luce County man died in a single-vehicle accident in McMillan Township Tuesday morning.

Troopers from the Sault Ste. Marie Post say it happened at about 7 a.m. on M-123 near Charcoal Grade Road. A vehicle driven by 20-year-old Jaden Caswell was northbound when he lost control and went into a deep ditch.

It appears Caswell wasn’t wearing a seat belt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers say speed was also a factor in the crash.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
