Alger County accident blamed on icy roads

ALGER COUNTY, MI— People were hospitalized, following a two-vehicle crash in Alger County Tuesday.

The Sheriff’s Office says it happened around 10:30 a.m. on M-28 about three miles east of Wetmore. An eastbound vehicle lost control on the icy roadway and hit a westbound vehicle head-on.

All parties involved were taken to UPHS-Marquette, where they remain in stable condition.

The Munising Township Fire Department and Michigan State Police assisted at the scene.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
