Truck hauling sand overturns in Marquette Township

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI— Faulty brakes are being blamed for a truck rollover accident in Marquette Township Tuesday.

The Marquette County Sheriff's Office says it happened around 4 p.m. on Northwoods Road near US-41. A Peterbilt truck hauling sand was eastbound on the highway when the brakes began to give out. The 50-year-old driver from Ishpeming began to turn onto Northwoods Road when the truck overturned.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident and no injuries were reported.

The accident remains under investigation.
