Injuries reported in Negaunee crash

NEGAUNEE, MI— Several people were injured in a multiple-vehicle crash in Negaunee Thursday.

It happened just before 3 p.m. at the intersection of US-41 and Teal Lake Avenue.

A Dodge Ram truck driven by a 74-year-old Ishpeming man was attempting a left turn in the intersection when he struck an oncoming Subaru driven by a 40-year-old Ishpeming woman. The Subaru was then hit from behind by a dump truck.

Several passengers in the Subaru received minor injuries. They were taken to UPHS-Bell and UPHS-Marquette for treatment.

The driver of the Dodge truck was cited for failure to yield.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
