Multiple-vehicle accident injures one in Negaunee

NEGAUNEE, MI— One person was injured in a three-vehicle crash in Negaunee Tuesday.

City Police say around 6:10 p-m, a Toyota Tacoma driven by a 74-year-old Negaunee resident tried to make a left turn onto Croix Street from

US-41. They failed to yield to a GMC Sierra driven by a 23-year-old Ishpeming resident that was westbound on the highway. After the Tacoma struck the Sierra, it hit a Buick Lucerne driven by a 40-year-old Iron River resident stopped on Croix Street.

A 68-year-old passenger in the Tacoma was taken to UPHS-Marquette for treatment of their injuries.

Assisting at the scene were the Negaunee Fire Department, Michigan State Police, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, Marquette County Rescue, and UPHS-EMS.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
