McMILLAN TOWNSHIP, MI— A Chesterfield, MI woman was killed in a snowmobile accident in Luce County Tuesday evening.

A 55-year-old downstate woman was trying to cross M-123 on her snowmobile when she pulled into the northbound lane of traffic. A northbound vehicle was unable to stop in time and it struck the snowmobile, ejecting the driver into the southbound lane. The snowmobile driver was taken to Helen Newberry Joy Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the northbound vehicle was a 56-year-old Newberry woman. The driver of the southbound vehicle was a 57-year-old Newberry man.

Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be factors in the accident.
