Deputies say Nathan Hohman, 52, was northbound when he failed to negotiate a curve in the trail. He struck a tree adjacent to the trail and was ejected from his machine into the same tree.

Hohman sustained significant injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies say excessive speed caused the accident.
