Rapid River woman dies in ORV rollover

NAHMA TOWNSHIP, MI— A Delta County woman was killed in an ORV accident in Nahma Township Friday.

Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post were dispatched around 3:30 p.m. to 27.25 Road near KK Road. They found a deceased woman underneath a Polaris Razr ORV. She’s identified as LeeAnne Moore, 52, of Rapid River—the passenger in the vehicle.

Investigation indicates the vehicle was westbound on 27.25 Road when a tire blew, causing the driver—also from Rapid River—to lose control. The ORV rolled over, ejecting both occupants.

The driver sustained several injuries, none of which are considered life-threatening. Neither the driver nor the passenger was wearing a seat belt or helmet.

Speed is thought to be a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.

Troopers were assisted by Garden Fire/EMS, Nahma Fire/EMS, and Rampart EMS.
