Alcohol suspected to be factor in 5-vehicle Houghton crash

PORTAGE TOWNSHIP, MI— The driver of a vehicle was injured when he hit four parked cars in Portage Township Saturday night.

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office says it happened around 11:15 p.m. on Paradise Road near Broemer Road. A 56-year-old man was southbound on Paradise Road when he crashed into four parked, unoccupied vehicles. His vehicle rolled over.

The driver was taken to UPHS-Portage for treatment.

Deputies believe speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
