Pilot killed in WI plane crash identified as Gladstone man

WAUPACA, WI— A Gladstone man died in a plane crash in Wisconsin over the weekend.

WBAY-TV reports the single-engine plane was landing at Central County Airport in Waupaca around 1 p.m. when it overturned. The pilot, 78-year-old Bruce Flannery, was killed.

The crash remains under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Waupaca County Medical Examiner’s office.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
