Pickup truck rear-ended in Chocolay Township

CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP, MI— Only minor injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash in Chocolay Township Saturday.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office responded around 2:50 p.m. to US-41 at Silver Creek Road.

Deputies say a Dodge Ram pickup driven by a 40-year-old Ithaca, Michigan resident was stopped at the intersection’s traffic light. It was hit from behind by a Honda CRV driven by a 23-year-old AuTrain resident.

Minor injuries were reported, but all occupants sought their own care.

The driver of the CRV was cited for failure to stop in an assured clear distance.

Chocolay Township Fire/Rescue assisted at the scene.
