Vehicle crashes on Marquette Township roundabout

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI— Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a roundabout crash in Marquette Township Sunday.

Around 12:20 a.m., the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the roundabout at US-41 at County Road HQ.

Officers say a 28-year-old Negaunee man was westbound on 41 when he drove over the island of the roundabout. The vehicle came to rest on the island, heavily damaged.

No passengers were in the vehicle and the driver wasn’t injured.

The crash remains under investigation.

Deputies were assisted by Marquette Township Fire and EMS and Marquette Detailing.
