Menominee Township ORV crash kills man

MENOMINEE TOWNSHIP, MI— One person is dead, after an ORV struck a deer in Menominee Township Friday.

The Menominee County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched just after 6 p.m. to Number 10 Road on a report that two people were injured.

Police say a Can-Am side-by-side hit a deer, left the road, struck a utility pole, and rolled over, knocking down power lines.

Ralph Vanpool, Sr., 60, of Wallace was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
