Injuries reported in multiple-vehicle Negaunee crash

NEGAUNEE, MI— Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Negaunee Wednesday morning.

The Negaunee Police Department says it happened around 8 a.m. on US-41 near Teal Lake.

Jesse Ramsey of Ishpeming was eastbound when he lost control of his vehicle in slushy road conditions and veered into the westbound lane. He struck a pickup driven by William Hill of Negaunee head-on. Ramsey’s vehicle then careened back into the eastbound lane and hit another vehicle driven by Justin Morrison of Negaunee.

Ramsey was taken to UPHS-Marquette for treatment of multiple injuries. Hill suffered minor injuries and sought his own treatment.

All vehicles involved had to be towed from the scene by Anttila’s towing.

Ramsey was found to be at fault in the accident and was ticketed.

Negaunee Police were assisted by the Michigan State Police, Ishpeming City Police, the Negaunee Fire Department, Bell EMS, and Marquette County Rescue units.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
