Pedestrian hit by vehicle in Iron Mountain

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI— A pedestrian was seriously injured when a vehicle struck him in Iron Mountain Friday.

City Police say it happened around 8 p.m. on US-2 near Culver’s.

A 28-year-old Iron Mountain man was crossing the highway when he was struck by a westbound vehicle driven by a man, also from Iron Mountain.

The victim was taken to Marshfield Medical Center Dickinson with life-threatening injuries. He was later transferred to St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

No other information about the incident is available at this time.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
