Soo teen hit by vehicle

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI— A Sault Ste. Marie boy is in stable condition after he was hit by a pickup truck while walking Tuesday.

City Police say it happened at the intersection of Ashmun Street and Sheridan Drive, just south of the Ashmun Street bridge.

The pedestrian is a 15-year-old student in the Soo school district.

He was taken to the hospital after the crash, which remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
