Delta County ORV crash claims woman's life

DELTA COUNTY, MI— A Wisconsin woman died in an ORV crash in Delta County on Sunday.

Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post were dispatched around 3:15 p.m. to 28 Road, about a quarter-mile west of Highway 13. They were advised someone had life-threatening injuries and CPR was in progress.

Additional lifesaving measures continued with Tri-Star EMS and Rampart EMS personnel, but the passenger—a 57-year-old woman from Ladysmith, Wisconsin—did not survive.

The driver was a 53-year-old Rapid River man and the passenger’s brother-in-law.

The crash remains under investigation.

Troopers were assisted by the Department of Natural Resources.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
