Car/RV crash in Stephenson, WI claims man's life

STEPHENSON, WI— A Crivitz, Wisconsin man was killed when his vehicle hit a motorhome in the town of Stephenson Sunday.

The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched around 11:13 a.m. to Parkway Road just north of Johnson Falls Road.

Deputies say Kent Klempke, 58, of Crivitz was northbound on Parkway when his vehicle drifted over the centerline. He hit a southbound RV driven by Brialeigh Hendricks, 31, of Pound, Wisconsin.

Klempke was not wearing a seatbelt and was killed in the crash. Hendricks and passengers from both vehicles were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Officials say speed and failure to maintain control appear to have been factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
