Names of those killed in Tilden Township crash released

TILDEN TOWNSHIP, MI— The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of those killed in a single-vehicle crash in Tilden Township on Monday.

It happened just before 6 p.m. on County Road 581 near County Road 482.

A pickup truck occupied by driver Jerimiah Patterson and passenger McKenna Patterson—both from the Flat Rock area—left the road and crashed into a stand of trees. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies say speed and possibly alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were the Ishpeming Township Fire Department, UPHS EMS, the Ishpeming Police Department, Michigan State Police, and Rescue 131.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
