Name of Ishpeming man killed in Monday crash released

ISHPEMING TOWNSHIP, MI— Police have released the name of the man who died in a single-vehicle crash in Ishpeming Monday morning.

It happened on County Road GGT around 8:40 a.m., according to Ishpeming Township Police.

They say Keith Delarye, 48, was westbound in a Jeep when he failed to negotiate a corner. The Jeep went down an embankment and hit a tree.

Delarye had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was taken to UPHS-Marquette for treatment but later died.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
