Saline man loses life in Mackinac County snowmobile accident

CLARK TOWNSHIP, MI— A downstate man died in a Mackinac County snowmobile crash on Saturday.

Michigan State Police from the St. Ignace Post responded just before 1 p.m. to Bay City Lake Road near Trail 47 in Clark Township.

Preliminary investigation indicates a snowmobile driven by a 61-year-old man from Saline was travelling on Trail 47 when the sled hit a bump. The man was ejected from the snowmobile and suffered injuries. Although emergency aid was administered, the man died from his injuries.

Trooper say neither drugs nor alcohol appear to have contributed to the crash.

MSP was assisted by Clark Township EMS, the Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office, and the Department of Natural Resources.
