Multi-car crash claims man's life in Ontonagon County

STANNARD TOWNSHIP, MI— A Wisconsin man was killed in a multi-vehicle accident in Ontonagon County Monday.

The Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office responded around 11:30 a.m. to U.S. 45 north of Gauthier Road in Stannard Township. Deputies say one person sustained fatal injuries and another was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The victim is identified as Andrew Bjork, 24, from Hudson, Wisconsin.

The accident remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were Michigan State Police from the Wakefield Post, an MSP Accident Investigator from the Wakefield Post, an MSP Accident Reconstructionist, SONCO South and North Ambulances, the Bruce Crossing Fire Department, the Rockland Fire Department, and Lake Gogebic Towing.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
