Two women seriously injured in Delta County truck/train crash

BRAMPTON TOWNSHIP, MI— Two people were injured in a truck/train crash in Delta County Thursday.

Michigan State Police say it happened at M-35 and 26th Lane in Brampton Township.

Preliminary investigation indicates the truck tried to cross the railroad tracks at a private crossing. It failed to yield to an oncoming train, which hit the vehicle.

The two subjects in the truck, both adult women, were seriously injured and taken by Rampart EMS for medical treatment. None of the crew aboard the train were injured.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
