Woman involved in Brampton Township truck/train crash dies

BRAMPTON TOWNSHIP, MI— A Gladstone woman has died from injuries sustained a truck/train crash in Delta County last week.

The 76-year-old and her 82-year-old female passenger—also from Gladstone—tried to cross tracks in Brampton Township Thursday when their vehicle was struck by a train.

The younger woman died later that day at OSF St. Francis Hospital.

The older woman was flown by Guardian Flight to St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, where she remains in critical condition.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
