UTV accident kills one in Menominee County

MENOMINEE TOWNSHIP, MI— One person was killed and one injured in a Menominee Township UTV accident Tuesday night.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched around 7:52 p.m. to an area just south of County Road 577 and Birch Creek #6 Road. They found the driver had been ejected from the vehicle and had significant traumatic injuries. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Additional law enforcement made contact with a pedestrian, who was also a passenger in the UTV. The passenger was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the incident. Anyone with information regarding the fatality is asked to call the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office at 906-863-4441.
