MARQUETTE, MI – The 36th running of the Big Bay Relay will be held Saturday, and race officials want to make sure the runners are safe.
Participants will take off from the River Park Sports Complex in Marquette at 8 a.m. and run about 26 miles to the finish at Perkins Park. More than 40 teams are expected to take part.
Officials say runners will be wearing a reflective strap and running on the left side of the road, facing traffic. “Race in progress” signs will be posted throughout the course between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Those who drive along County Road 550 Saturday are asked to be especially careful.
