MARQUETTE, MI-- A national organization dedicated to recording the stories of Americans from every walk of life is holding an opening day event in Marquette Monday.
StoryCorps is partnering with Public Radio 90 to collect the stories of U.P. residents in a mobile booth parked at Peter White Public Library.
Every interview will be archived at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. Portions of some interviews may even air on NPR’s Morning Edition.
An opening ceremony will be held at 11:45 a-m at Peter White Library to introduce the public to the StoryCorps staff.

The StoryCorps mobile booth will be in Marquette through August 2.
