Dr. Martin Reinhardt: Native American content in educational materials

Dr. Marty Reinhardt, Associate Professor in Northern Michigan University's Center for Native American 

Studies, speaks with Nicole Walton about his part in an upcoming conference in Marquette.  

On September 26 St. Paul's Episcopal Church will hold Weaving a Tapestry of Respect and Dignity: A Focus on Racism and Racial Reconciliation.  Reinhardt and his class will talk about integrating Native American history and culture into educational materials.  

The conference also features Dain and Constance Perry and a screening of the film Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
