Art, art everywhere!

MARQUETTE, MI--   Artists and artisans will crowd Marquette’s shorelines this weekend, when Art on the Rocks and the Outback Art Fair are held Saturday and Sunday.

The 59th Annual Art on the Rocks juried fine arts show will feature more than 140 vendors. Thirty percent of the show consists of artists invited based on a scoring system used by previous show judges, while the other 70 percent are selected in a jury process held in April.

It takes place Saturday from 10 to 6 and Sunday from 10 to 5 at Mattson Lower Harbor Park.

The 24th Outback Art fair—a more relaxed event—will feature pottery, crafts, soaps, food, jewelry, artwork, and more.

It will be held at Shiras Park across from Picnic Rocks from 10 a.m. Saturday through 5 p.m. Sunday.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
