Marquette honored for its cultural scene

MARQUETTE, MI— USA Today has recognized Marquette as one of the Top 10 Best Cultural Scenes in the U.S.

The paper cites winter-themed sports events, along with a number of museums and galleries.

City of Marquette Arts and Culture Manager Tiina Morin says the city is intentional about supporting and integrating the arts and celebrating residents. She says the people who live in Marquette are passionate about their community and expressing that joy in so many creative ways.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
