KI SAWYER, MI— K.I. Sawyer is getting a mural designed by internationally known painter and public artist Timothy Robert Smith. Work begins Wednesday on the permanent asphalt project at Little Trout Lake Park.
Made possible through a grant from the Michigan Arts and Culture Council, the project will take about a week to complete. The Marquette County Planning Division says the mural will enhance the newly renovated park by complementing its natural setting and providing an accessible, vibrant, and playful connection between the Silver Lead Creek Greenway trails.
Known for his mastery of realism and shifting perspectives, Timothy Robert Smith creates cinematic stories that challenge and explore human perception.
An official unveiling and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be announced upon the project's completion.
