Gernot Wolfgang is a composer, born in Austria, who moved to Los Angeles with dreams of becoming a film composer. He started his life in Austria in the jazz scene, but also began composing. Over the years, he became well-versed in jazz, chamber music, and film score music; his newest album, "Vienna and the West," reflects this background through his compositional output.
Classiclectic host Kurt Hauswirth had an opportunity to speak with Gernot on the phone about his new collection, dubbed "Groove Oriented Chamber Music."
"Vienna and the West" is out now on Albany Records; more information at http://www.gernotwolfgang.com/discography/vienna-west/, and at Albany Records' site.
