Heritage Sustainable Energy to expand wind farm in Fairbanks Township

FAIRBANKS TOWNSHIP, MI--   The Garden Wind Farm in Delta County is expanding.

Earlier this year the County Commission approved another 36 turbine sites in Fairbanks Township. Now, Heritage Sustainable Energy plans to install turbines at 20 of the approved sites.

The turbines will be installed in two phases, in 2019 and 2020. Five sites will be installed next year and the remaining 15 by the end of 2020.

In 2012 Heritage constructed the 14 turbine Garden Wind Farm, Phase I, north of the Village of Garden. The expansion will bring the total to 34 wind turbines on the Garden Peninsula.
