Calumet Electronics employee to meet President Trump

WASHINGTON, D.C.--   An engineer with Calumet Electronics will meet with President and Ivanka Trump at the White House Thursday.

The meeting comes on the heels of U.S. Small Business Administration Acting Administrator Chris Pilkerton’s visit to Calumet Tuesday. It marked the one-year anniversary of Our Pledge to America’s Workers, an initiative of the National Council for the American Worker.

In late 2018, the Association Connecting Electronics Industries committed to educating, training, and/or reskilling 1,000,000 U.S. workers by signing the pledge. Calumet Electronics was one of five businesses in the country chosen to represent the domestic electronics industry.

Engineer Audra Thurston will meet the President at 3:30 p.m. It will be broadcast live at Whitehouse.gov.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
