ESCANABA, MI-- The Delta County Airport had its highest number of passenger enplanements in July.
Airport Manager Jeffrey Sierpien says commercial enplanements are people boarding a commercial plane and heading to Detroit. The total number for last month was 1,934 – a 14 percent increase over July 2018’s total of 1,692.
Sierpien believes the number is a single, but important indicator of the economic health of Delta County.
He says the Michigan Department of Transportation follows such numbers very closely.
